Who's That Girl? |
Why, hello there! My name is Kali Wakley and I am currently a student of the (get ready) Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science in Real Time Interactive Simulation program at DigiPen Institute of Technology. (BSCS RTIS for short) My primary responsibility on the team is being the SCRUM Master to Bryan's vision. I work with the wonderful team members we have to make sure the team stays on track for milestone delivery, while also making sure everyone retains sanity.
Being incredibly detail-oriented and having cross disciplines in programming, music, narration, and basic art theory combined with what others have lauded as excellent communication skills, it is my goal to make sure everyone on the team has their own voice on the project and stays happy and healthy. At the same time, I make sure all of the technology is behaving well and work with Joshua to make sure that the technical standards are up to snuff. In addition to this, I work with Bryan to develop our project's story, and design and program the user interface for the project. A happy team means the world to me, and I believe there is a direct correlation between the morale, state of the tech, and what we will deliver to the user as the final experience. I always look forward to working with people on a creative vision, especially those I know I can rely on (all of the other individuals on the team being among those I trust), and especially on a project such as Derelict (WIP) with narration, user interface, and innovative technology being three things that absolutely captivate me as a creator. I am extremely excited about Stranded as I believe the project will be a true treasure for those who create it and those who experience the game in its finality. |
Other Projects
Polterheist |
Polterheist is a 2D, top-down, cooperative experience in which two players enter a haunted house as teenagers and avoid the terrors within (super funky fresh, colorful ghosts) to obtain peculiar artifacts to throw back out to their friends. This was one of the sophomore year game projects at DigiPen I was privileged to work on and my responsibilities on the project included production, user interface design and programming, and the audio programming using FMOD Studio to support our rocking rag-time and jazz influenced sound tracks. You can take a look at this wonderful couch-coop experience by watching the video below.

Astral Lune |
Astral Lune was also a project I was privileged to work on sophomore year at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Astral Lune was a 2D, single-player, puzzle, platformer that featured a movement mechanic the team dubbed as the "reflection mechanic". A player would use a ray drawn on the screen to project a trajectory towards a surface, and then they would bounce off said surface at a reflective angle (also shown on screen) to move about the level while avoiding hazards. The mechanic was extremely well received, and this semester experience taught me the most about what it means to not just be a producer, but to be a good producer.

Knightfall |
Knightfall is a 2D, randomly generated, dungeon crawler, single-player platformer, where the player is a mage that has several magical abilities to defeat all the enemies of Castle Knightfall while they collect the abundant treasure inside. This was a freshman year game project I was privy to work on with a great team, and was my true introduction to art production, working with the wonderful Stephanie Koc and Conor Kamps. It was also my first true experience designing user interface, and though the menus were perhaps simplistic, it spurred within me a true love and passion for user interface creation and design.

Narrative Projects
In addition to working in game production and developing for game projects, one of my long time passions is narration. Following the link will make you privy to a selection of some of my creative writings pulled from my DeviantArt page. Enjoy the read(s) and please feel free to leave feedback via email!
